Galveston Beaches - leashed pets are welcome along all 32 miles of Galveston beaches!

• Seawolf Park - located on Galveston's Pelican Island and offers the most popular fishing piers, picnic sites, and a playground. There are also tourist attractions here including the WWII submarine the USS Cavalia and one of only 3 destroyer escorts in the world, the USS Stewart; this is also an RV camping site with 40 spaces; Admission is $6/car and fishing is $6/adult, $3/senior, and $3/children (5-11 years old)
• Stewart Beach - at 6th Street and Seawall Blvd, this is Galveston's premiere family beach, and it has lots of amenities
• Dellanerva RV Park - at FM 3005 and 7 Mile Road, this beach has over 1000 feet of sandy beachfront and is located in Galveston's premiere beachfront camping site; the beach here has umbrellas and chair rentals, a children's playground, picnic sites, and a pavilion with showers, a gift shop, and a recreation room.
• East Beach - at 1923 Boddeker Dr, this beach is on the far eastern tip of the island, and it is known for beach parties, fishing, bird watching, and an annual sand castle competition
• Seawall Urban Park - this park is located along the famous Seawall Boulevard and stretches more than 10 miles and has the nation's longest continuous sidewalk. Parking is along the Seawall from 6th to 69th streets and 81st to 103rd streets
• Galveston Island State Park - has been named one of the top 5 "Best Gulf Coast Beaches" by the Travel Channel, and it offers a quiet oasis on the island's West End; here, families can enjoy kayak tours and surf explorations, bird walks, nature field trips, and fishing clinics for free. Many activities require advanced sign up at the park website and entrance costs $5/person

Lindale Dog Park

Lindale Dog Park - this park is well-shaded with benches and drinking water. The dog park has a large field with several picnic benches and tons of toys for dogs to play with, mostly tennis balls and frisbees, a watering station, and doggie waste cleanup bags. Half of the park is grass and the rest is dirt/sand that gets muddy after it rains, and there are separate areas for large and small dogs. The parks has 3 entrances: one by the tennis court parking lot, one by the playground, and the last by the outdoor basketball hoop. The park also has a small children's playground and sports fields with all types of courts.

Galveston Island State Park - leashed dogs are welcome in this park, and here you can enjoy the beach, the Gulf, and the bay. Many people camp here on the park's 2000 acres of undeveloped barrier island habitats. The natural areas of the park are important for conservation and attract a wide variety of bird species, especially during spring and fall migrations. The park gets very busy in the summer and on weekends and holidays, so be prepared for crowds if coming during those times. Here you can swim, fish, picnic, bird watch, hike, mountain bike, paddle, camp, geocache, study nature, or just relax!

You can fish from the beach or the bay shore or wade into the water and fish from Galveston Bay. A fish cleaning station is available at the end of Bayside Road (the branch that passes by the bayside camping area).

There are 4 miles of trails through the park's varied habitats at observation platforms and boardwalks over dunes and marshes. Leashed dogs welcome.

Facilities are limited but include rest rooms and a rinse shower.

Danny Jackson Family Bark Park - this park has separate areas for large and small dogs, swimming ponds, water spigots, fire hydrants, and benches. The park has long, thin lawns that give pets a good-sized area to take a good run, there are no shade trees, but there are two ponds and a walking path connecting the large and small dog areas.

*Note, be ware that the park is located under massive transmission towers and power lines, so it's not the prettiest park.
