TripAdvisor Review: "I booked this B&B based on its good location and price point. I really wasn't expecting such a lovely visit.
Jim and Connie are super nice hosts. From the moment we walked in the door, to be greeted with a personalized welcome sign with our names on, to the moment we left, was such a warm and homelike experience.
The house is decorated with individualism and charm all over. We stayed in the South Pacific room, which has a four-poster bed and a balcony overlooking the garden. There were cookies provided each afternoon in the room, and a s'mores kit for toasting over the communal fire pit in the evening. Wine glasses, a bottle opener, a fridge, microwave and coffee machine are in the room. There is a communal drawing room downstairs, where one can watch TV and in the evening, partake of the provided liqueurs.
The aforementioned fire pit is awesome. Jim keeps it stoked with wood all night long if people are enjoying it. We had a lovely evening with some of the other residents. There is also a Cat, named Rusty, who inhabits the garden and is super friendly; wanting scritches, and he is full of purrs.
Breakfast is awesome. They serve it at 9am, which initially seemed kind of late to us (we normally eat around 6am!) but it made sense once we got to the morning (and also allows you time to go and walk on the beach first thing). They arrange everyone around the same table and it turns into a really nice morning repast. We enjoyed sharing stories with the other guests and comparing notes about everyone's activities on the island. As for the food.... come hungry! There is a lot of food - bring your sweet tooth, too - and on Sunday it included Mimosas. It is really very civilized. We were asked when we booked if we had any food requirements, so those can be catered for.
All in all, I would highly recommend this B&B and whenever we return to Galveston, there's a very strong chance we will be back.
